ABOUT ME
Asa Nestlehutt (He/They) is a queer NYC-based director and actor.
Growing up on the spectrum, the performing arts were the one place I felt seen and could escape from the stresses and stimulations of everyday life, disappearing into a world freer than the one we live in. Not bound by the rules of everyday life but rather one that stretches our imagination and pushes our understanding of the world around us. This sense of escape and catharsis is what draws me to create art. Sharing this passion with others is a lifelong dream. I want to be able to share that sense of escape that stimulates the mind in a way that allows an audience to feel transported and enthralled. I aim to create bold visual stories that are larger than life, saturated in color and characterization, grabbing the audience and refusing to let them go. Taking them on a ride that activates all of the senses and stretches the limits of what theatre can be.
